Welcome to my e-portfolio!
Dear friends, family and incoming freshmen,
A friend once asked me if I learned anything or grew from my experience this first year in college. And I answered, "Yes, definitely." I find my freshman year at Penn State University Park memorable and worthwhile. Not only did I establish new relationships with various people I encountered at Penn State, but I also enjoyed a learning experience that was enriching and fruitful. Literature, languages, History, Political Science, and English are just some of the subjects that fall under the category of Liberal Arts, according to the Penn State University. As a student of the Liberal Arts College, I love the broadness of the liberal arts education. I've come to realize how various academic subjects are intimately intertwined, and have come to appreciate the opportunity to explore a variety of academic disciplines given to me. Throughout my four years in Penn State, I will continue to learn and practice key liberal arts skills that are essential--critical/creative thinking and effective communication in both oral and written forms--in various graduate-level studies, jobs, and educated citizenry. Regardless of whether I had enjoyed the class or not, all the courses I took has truly expanded the horizon of my knowledge. Of the total 9 courses I took as a freshman, I've chosen four that have left a great impression on my mind: LA 101H, ASIA 004U, HIST 175, and APLNG 083T. Each of these selected courses are introduced in the blog's pages that include brief summaries and personal works I've composed for the classes. I hope that my portfolio will give you an insight into some of the great courses offered here at Penn State, and ultimately, encourage you to take and explore these studies for yourself.
